The

Holiday

Proposal

We’ve got something a little different for you this month. Some ideas for the perfect proposal. We all know this is going to be the first question on everyone’s lips, so make sure your girl or guy has a great story to tell.

And this doesn’t necessarily have to be a grand gesture, let’s face it, you know them best. Whether it be a romantic surprise in the comfort of your home, or a huge public affair in front of all of your friends and family, we’ve got some ideas to help get your mind ticking.

The

First Date Reminiscence

Where did you first meet? Or where did you take your partner on their first date? This could be the perfect place to take your loved one back to, so that you can relive the memories of where you first began your journey, back to where it all began.

The

Home

Comforts Proposal

You two might have a beautiful home together or you might just love a cosy night in together. This could be the perfect opportunity for a beautifully executed home proposal. It could be first thing in the morning, alongside breakfast in bed, or you could decorate the house in advance of your loved one coming home from somewhere. You could even rope his or her friends into the secret, and send them off on a little day trip (perhaps to the spa to get their nails done) before coming home for the perfect evening together.

Little

Puzzle

If you’re both a fan of a little puzzle, why not put together a little game? You could send your betrothed on a tour of your favourite place, whether that’s home or away, with the hunt ending in them finding the ring. It could be buried in a sandcastle, waiting somewhere in your park hunt picnic, or even hidden in your hands in your favourite place (make sure you’re ready on one knee when they arrive). Give yourselves plenty of time, and ensure that they’ll definitely be able to work out all the clues.

The

Classic

Meal Out

This feels like the proposal we all see in the movies. But there’s a reason why it’s a popular choice – you know you’re going to have a special evening, and there’s plenty of places to hide the ring. Pick your favourite restaurant, or somewhere the two of you have always wanted to visit. Just remember, there will be other people around and you’ll definitely need to propose in front of them, so make sure you’re both comfortable with that. You can get the staff to give you a helping hand, even hiding the ring inside a drink or some food.

Top Tip for the Perfect Proposal:

You will want to remember this moment forever, and it’s unlikely that you’ll remember everything that happened when you get swept up in the moment. Consider hiring a photographer to capture everything, so that the memory can last forever. And if this is something you don’t manage to do, perhaps you can return to your engagement location for your pre-wedding photoshoot!
