This is probably the most difficult part of your wedding, because you will have had the best day of your life, and you will want every little piece of memory to play some part in your life. Every single photo you see will hold a special piece of your heart!, so it’s important to make sure that your wedding album paints the perfect picture of the incredible day that you two, and your friends and family enjoyed together.
We’ve got some tips which we think will help you to put together an album that you will love, and you and your new husband or wife can enjoy reminiscing over your perfect day in years to come.
It’s the perfect opportunity for you to have some “us” time. It will have been a whirlwind of months, planning the wedding, heading off on honeymoon and making sure you’ve thanked everyone who joined you on your special day. So when the photographer sends over your photos, you can take the opportunity to have a date night with your other half, enjoy your favourite tipple and some delicious food, and laugh together over the beautiful (and hopefully some funny ones!) photos which will mean everything to you both. Take out the ones you don’t love first, and at least that’s a starting point! Then try to make sure you’ve included everyone important to you, and that your album creates a story of your day. Think of the design layout of the album whilst you’re doing this, so that you know all of the photos will flow, and make you smile no matter which page you flick it open on.
Friends and Family
to Give you a Helping Hand
Don’t forget, your close family and friends will have joined you on the day, and will have memories and stories to tell which you may have missed whilst you were caught up chatting to other guests, or dancing the night away. Invite them over to join in the fun, and you can all enjoy remembering your uncle’s best dance moves. This may help you pick some photos you might otherwise have missed, and help you whittle out some you are unsure on. We can guarantee they’ve been dying to see these snaps as much as you have!
Don’t forget, your photographer has done this many times. They will be able to help you in making the album exactly what it should be, they will have a great eye for what the layout should look like, and how to ensure you don’t have too many photos of the same thing. They have edited these images, so will know the photos incredibly well, and may have ideas of some they love, which you might have missed. You will spend a huge amount of time with your photographer on your wedding day, often just the 3 of you, and as they have got to know you it’s likely they will know which kind of photos suit your personality. Plus photography is their art, so they will certainly have photos which they are proud of. Ask them for a little bit of a helping hand. And make sure you preview the album, before it is edited (something I’m sure they’ll advise you to do anyway!)
Adding a Little
Bit of Text
Goes a Long Way
There will be some extremely important words throughout the course of your day, and these are words which you could consider including on pages of your album. Think about adding guest book comments, words from the speeches, your vows or even words from your first dance. This will help you make even more of a story from your album.
Most importantly, have fun! This is a great opportunity to relive your wedding day all over again, something which you will treasure forever, so take your time making sure it’s right.
